Softball: A Stirring Tale of Cut and Run
Dear People,
On a soggy day of bittersweet transition, Alex ended his five glorious years with our nurturing aerobic community, and true to form, we rose to the occasion with nearly God-like integrity; Yes, as soothing droplets of mist gradually evolved into a 4th inning torrent of intermittent drizzly-pooh, we spontaneously fled for our cars like a shell-shocked stampede of hydrophobic pussy-cattle. In all candor, I believe he deserved better.
On the other hand, it was the Alexicon himself who first cried out that his ears were frosty and wet, bitterly adding that “This is bogus; Let’s get some pizza.” In fairness, I don’t think he felt this way merely because his own team had fallen behind 14-8, but rather because he truly feared that someone would end up with a bad flu, broken ankle or tertiary syphilis (Yeah, I used that line a couple years ago, but it was my own line, and I’m not ashamed to say that I’ll always self-plagiarize if that’s what it takes. So back off).
In any case, the lingering fragrance of New York style pepperoni was a sapid post-game treat for all of us, and because the beer was cold, the hot cocoa hot and the conversation both vital and contemplative, Alex will soon head off on his long cross-country journey with the rich sustaining memories of a kind and decent people from honorable sissy stock. And therefore there will be a game at Codornices this Sunday at 11AM, IF I get enough commits by this Friday morning ….Ray

Softball: The harsh Realities of Supply and Demand
Dear People,
There will be a game at Codornices this Sunday at 11AM, and of now, it is full. As always, please let me know me ASAP if you committed and need to cancel, and feel free to contact me later if you are looking for reopened slots. $3, because good things are never cheap.
For the record, several fine and perfectly worthy people were (so far) locked out of this week's game, and therefore I may have to adopt a series of brutal organizational rules that could actually increase the bitter mistrust you already have for me. Stay tuned…Ray 845-7552
