Softball: Your After-the-Bird Sport
Dear People,
In a nail-biting return to our newly-seeded homeland, my team beat Jonnys, 12-11, proving once again that rare is the advantage when leadership is feckless. Still, victory was not assured until the final hit of the gamea towering sacrifice fly that ultimately served as a merciless coup de gras, and Im not saying that just because I like to mold disparate Indoeuropean tongues into oxymoronic drivel.
The point is that while the grasses of Cordonices are now as lush, sensual and verdant as Ive ever seen them, our non-herbal terrain remains somewhat problematic. Thus, for the record, I did call Berkeley Parks and Rec on Monday to let them know that for our $57 rental fee, we would prefer an infield that doesnt so closely resemble the stark and arid sand dunes of Southeastern Yemen.
In any case, I will soon be in a distant land to celebrate Thanksgiving with various members of my extended family, nearly all of whom add urgency to the raging debate between proponents of psychopharmaceuticals and defenders of traditional therapy. Yet for my own fragile sanity, I simply cant bring myself to let you feast on endless cornucopias of turkey, stuffin and bok choy with hoisin sauce without the possibility of aerobic release, and therefore there will be a game at Codornices this Sunday at 11AM, IF I get enough commits by this Friday morning
