Softball: Seamless
Dear People,
At the time of last week's game, I was frolicking in Los Angeles, CaliforniaAmerica's objectively greatest and most deeply beloved metropolis. Nevertheless, I was able to learn from my sources at the sports desk at the Latvian consulate in Oakland that the match came off without a hitch, showing once again that Enid is a ringer, and that my leadership of this community, indeed, my very personage, is as utterly disposable as a toddlers pair of soiled all-cotton skivvies. My only consolation, alas, is that as great as my despair is, I am not Jonny. Yes, his own streak of feckless captainship continued apace, giving Enid's team a crushing 25-18 triumph of spirit, will and score.
In any case, I am now back from LA looking tanned, rested and, frankly, more drop-dead gorgeous than ever before. And therefore there will be a game at Codornices this Sunday at 11AM, FOLLOWED BY our first-of-the-year bring-your-own-meat Potluck Barbecue, IF I get enough commits by this Friday morning.
Please let me know if you're coming to the barbie (friends, family and embittered ex-lovers are always welcome), and if so, what communal contribution you plan to bring. Highly recommended offerings include (at least two) grills/coal/lighter fluid, blankets to sit on, paper towels/plates/cups, tons of ice, soft drinks, juices, beer, more ice (bonus points if finely crushed), spatulas, real knives and plastic silverware, side salads, fine breads and cheeses, condiments, onions, mayo, brownies, cake, homemade ethnic entrees that grandpapa used to cherish, more ice, chips, assorted fresh fruit, raw vegetables, and if youre really feeling inspired, a braised duck leg confit with capers, porcini mushrooms, and an generous variety of garden lettuces

Softball: Play, Yummy and Late Summer Housing!
Dear People,
There will be a game at Codornices this Sunday at 11, and as of now, there are two slots left. $3 for the field, because fair is fair.

Finally, Michael Davey, whose fearsome batting set the standard for our community until he and his family fled to France, is looking to sublease his place for the last few weeks before their return. Heres the story, in his own words; Je suis American, moi, mais au couer, Je suis un grenouille. OK, that was a joke; Heres the real info
