Softball: The Varied Strains of Victory
Dear People,
After five long years away, Andy returned from cold, dark and dank New England, promptly took the mound for my team, and then proceeded to pitch seven of the most transcendent innings in the history of our league, giving up just five runs on a handful of hits, two errors and a clean deed of trust. His spit-laced Boston bean ball was all the more impressive when one considers that the core of Tuckers roster included the ferocious trio of Matt, Mike Davey and Chris Fure, all of whom wilted under the Andynators raw Yankee focus.
Unfortunately, he sat out the 8th with a sprained lower spleen (or something), and by the time he came back in the 9th, Tuckers rejuvenated contingent had shot ahead with six runs on a walk, four hits and 13 really annoying errors.
The point is that even though our side crashed and burned, 11-10, Andy can return home with his head held high, for its now clear that he won more solid innings, received more teary-eyed respect, garnered more pledged aerobic delegates and savored more of the total popular goat than any player on the face of that field. I still get chills just thinking about it, and therefore there will be a game at Codornices this Sunday at 11AM, IF I get enough commits by this Friday morning
