Softball: Of Eggs and Balls
Dear People,
Chris Fure's team gently subdued my own 16-13, which is truly distressing since Pic came out of her self-imposed aerobic retirement to play her first game in over seven years-the longest streak of inexplicable-aloofatude -followed-by-a-triumphant-return in the history of this league- and yet, stuck as she was on my team, it just wasn't as joyous as it coulda' been.
And speaking of despair, the hard reality is that as I peck these very words, I am once again trapped in the dark and seedy basement of my sister's Seattle abode, and while you may be cynically thinking to cry you a liver (or whatever that puzzling expression is), perhaps you'd have a bit more empathy if you were the one who had to ceaselessly dispute the true contraceptive efficacy of the Lactational Amenorrhea Method among women of the industrialized world. I'm sorry if this makes you feel unclean, but yeah, I've got responsibilities beyond your own cardiovascular integrity, and I'm not ashamed to say that.
The point is that there are issues of broad ovulatory import that are as contentious as, say, our own league's decision to abandon the infield fly rule, though frankly, the stakes are actually higher within the lady-parts milieu (for example, I'm fairly sure that none of our players has ever gotten prego from a rule change, no matter how bitterly resented). And therefore, assuming I can extract myself from here in a timely matter, there will be a game at Codornices this Sunday at 11, IF I get enough commits by this Friday morning . . . Raymond

Softball: The Imminence of Breakout
Dear People,
There will be a game at Codornices this Sunday at 11AM, and as of now it is full. As always, please let me know ASAP if you committed and need to cancel, and if you still want in, feel free to get on the wait list or contact me later for news of reopened slots.
Please bring $5 for the field, which for this week only includes a rare post-match exhibition of the cuffs, straps and other restraints that my sister now uses to keep me cleaved to the walls of her Seattle home dungeon_-fed, watered and in surprisingly prolific writing mode
