Softball: God (A Cogent Case for Persistence)
Dear People,
First of all, and for the record, I am well aware that before last Sunday mornings despicable and sudden deluge, we had had six days of dry, temperate and glorious Bay Area weather---the kind of climate that reminds us why we all choose to live here despite the obvious allures of, say, New York or Paris or Houston. And yes, I am also aware that the same thing basically happened the week before, and that as I write you at this very moment, pristine cloudless skies almost taunt me with the recurrent risk of deistic meteorologic manipulation.
Let me be blunt: As a fervent Agnostic-Unitarian-Buddhist-Jew, my yearning for softball is rooted in its dazzling potential for both aerobic and spiritual release, but right now, frankly, Im pissed off at the Lord for such utterly capricious behavior. Sun, sun, sun, sun, sun, sun, Time for softball!/Rain. Whats that about?! Perhaps most of you are just willing to "let it go," but these are the ontological uncertainties that gnaw at my innards.
Indeed, just a few hours ago I was enjoying my cherished Tuesday evening bubble-bath when I happened to notice that my Suave Shampoo contains Methylchloroisothiazolinone, which to be honest, I associate more with Soviet-era rat poison than shiny and beautiful hairing. Nevertheless, I still gently rubbed the octo-syllabic gelling poo into my scalp, not because I knew it was safe, but precisely because I was unsure of the true risk involved. Yes, I think we all see where Im going with this, and therefore, there will be a game at Codornices this Sunday at 11AM, IF I get enough commits by this Friday morning

Softball: Hopefully
Dear People,
There will be a game at Codornices this Sunday at 11AM, and as of now, there are still three slots left. Please bring $2 for the field, which for this week only, includes your choice of EITHER a complimentary bassinet of fresh bok choy and tender greens, OR a partially subsidized post-match tonsillectomy

Softball: Sunday 9:07 AM: The Thrill of Defiance!
For the record, Codornices is still somewhat damp and officially "closed," which does mean that if we were to play, there would be a slight risk of us being forcefully removed by authorities of the omnipotent local state. HOWEVER, she is also utterly playable, and most importantly, I believe that she yearns for us with every verdant blade of grass that she now calls her own. Oh sure, perhaps inanimate places dont really have "feelings," but I think thats between them and their maker, and frankly, its none of your damn business.
Life is risk/Courage/Courage/Courage/NO EXCUSES/See you at 11

PS: As of this writing, there are two slots left, and in the interests of gender balance, female players are particularly encouraged to seize them.
