Softball: Briefly in Weary Mode
Dear People,
Chris Fure's team staved off my own, 14-12, in a splendid Grove Park match that was all the more magical because the last two innings were played under a pelting softball-hostile rain. Athletes from less intrepid leagues would've undoubtedly fled for their cozy little abodes, but we're simply of heartier stock, and truth be told, most of us love to cavort in the mud-laden filth.
Beyond that, I have little else more to say because I've been watching too much news, and as will occasionally happen, I'm not in much of a mood to continue the schtick. Of course not playing helps no one and perhaps a little local good cheer eventually scatters from Sendai to Tripoli. And therefore there will be a game at Grove Park this Sunday at 4PM, IF I get enough commits by this Friday morning
Raymond
PS: Chris Fure left his much-loved olive-colored Columbia jacket at the park. If you picked it up for safe keeping, please let me know.
PPS: Jonny will be flying in from Melbourne this weekend for his first game with us in over a year! Remember, he still thinks of himself as a fairly good player, so try to be tactful.

Softball: Medicinals
Dear People,
There will hopefully be a game at Grove Park this Sunday at 4PM, and as of now it is full. As always, please let me know ASAP if you committed and need to cancel, and if you still want in, feel free to get on the wait list or contact me later for reopened slots.
There is a good chance of rain between now and then, so you'll likely need to check your email around 3:00 that afternoon. Regardless, never assume a cancellation since even if the field is flooded and/or closed, I'll still be checking a couple Astroturf alternatives if it looks like the rain has stopped.
If we do play at Grove, the field fee is just $4, and that includes professional maggot debridement therapy for all wounds and abrasions

Sunday 12:35PM: A Confluence of Game-Killers ;-(...
Dear People,
Grove is both closed and flooded, Maxwell is presently occupied by
hordes of Cal-sanctioned soccer players, Yahoo Weather is saying more
rain is a comin' soon, and perhaps worst of all, my entire Comcast
service of phone, TV and internet has been totally out since yesterday
(I don't know if this is due to the weather, their overall
incompetence or just your garden-variety antisemitism, but regardless,
I can tell ya it's extremely inconvenient).
Patience/Until next week....Raymond (pecking quickly from world-famous Boalt Express, where 'your legal research needs are our only concern')....
