Softball: Gibberish to Galvanize

Dear Fellow Athletecists,

After more than a month of aerobic depravation, I shake to the very marrow of my bones when I contemplate how flabby and dour you people have undoubtedly become. The corrosive dross that courses through your unexercised veins has had free reign under the pretext of holiday mirth, but it's now a new year, and once again it is time to renew our communal dedication to excellence in sport. Thus, there will be a softball game this SUNDAY, January 11th, at Kleeberger at NOON, IF I get enough commits by this Friday morning.

Yes, some are predicting rain and hail and all things harsh, and yes, the dank and gray winter has left many of you crestfallen, nearly paralyzed by the sheer weight of your own fungal-like inactivity. Yet it's also true that your own kinetic renaissance awaits only your determination, nurtured as always by the sublime emotional purity that is found in every swing of the bat. I think you see my point. Make that commit. Do it for the 35,000 cuddly and carnivorous brown bears of the upper Yukon who are hibernating as I write, and therefore, at least for another four months, can only dream of what you'll take for granted....Raymond
